Sameer Shariff - Founder & CEO

Sameer Shariff is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for turning ideas into real businesses.

As the founder and CEO of Impelsys Inc., Sameer drives Impelsys' business vision, strategy, value and growth. Impelsys is his second start up and he has grown the company into a leader in online content delivery for the STM, Children’s and educational publishing markets. Impelsys products and services help over 50 publishers with their online content delivery strategy. Customers include major publishers Reed Elsevier, McGraw Hill, Wolters Kluwer, Thomson, Springer, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to smaller publishers Marshall Cavendish, Benchmark Education and Prufrock Press.

The first company that Sameer founded was Medsite Inc. As Chief Strategic Officer and Executive Vice President of Sales, he helped Medsite become one of the largest Internet pharmaceutical marketing companies in the United States. Mr. Shariff was instrumental in guiding Medsite during its early period of financial and organizational growth. Under his strategic direction, Medsite grew to include more than 200 employees and increased in sales from $0 to over $20 million. In 2006, Medsite was sold to WebMD for over $ 40 Million.

Sameer is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his BS degree in Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of Business. He has served as a guest speaker at several industry events and has been featured in Forbes, India Today, and Silicon India among other publications.

Nizar Jamal - COO and CTO

As COO and CTO of Impelsys Nizar Jamal manages day-to-day operations of the company. In addition to Mr. Jamal's financial responsibilities, he also oversees the development and maintenance of company infrastructure, human resources, policy development, project management, quality control and client-team communications.

Mr. Jamal has over 15 years of experience in building and managing software products and services in the US.

As a Director of Engineering at Respond Networks, Mr. Jamal designed a scalable, consumer directed web service that was later branded by Verizon, Qwest and Martindale-Hubble. Mr. Jamal has also maintained senior-level positions at Hitachi Software, Agilent Technologies and Unify Corporation. More recently, Mr. Jamal served as a consultant to Neoteris and Solsoft on network security product development and implementation of software configuration management processes.

Mr. Jamal holds a MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin and a BE degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Annamalai University in India.

David Saracco - Vice President of Business Development

As Vice President of e-Publishing, David Saracco oversees all electronic publishing activity at Impelsys. Mr. Saracco uses his vast experience with electronic production, management and business strategy to offer cost-efficient and timely production solutions to Impelsys' publishing clients.

As Director of Electronic Publishing at Elsevier Science for more than seven years, Mr. Saracco was responsible for the strategy, conceptualization and deployment of corporate-wide electronic publishing systems. Directing more than 20 production teams in both Philadelphia and St. Louis, Mr. Saracco managed the production of over 400 electronic products per year including online books, CD-online books, pharmaceutical drug databases, PDAs, CMEs, interactive CD-ROMs, websites, e-learning management systems, video, audio and DVDs. Prior to Elsevier, Mr. Saracco was a founding partner and Executive Vice President of Target Media, Inc.

Mr. Saracco has extensive experience writing, producing and directing films and has been presented with numerous awards for his work. Mr. Saracco is listed in the Who's Who directory for his expertise in Business and Information Technology.

Bijitendra Mohan Basu - Vice President of Finance

As Vice President\Finance, Bijit Basu is in charge of all finance operations for Impelsys. Bijit has had considerable experience in running global finance in the IT industry with the Information Systems Division of ITC Ltd and later with SQL Star International Ltd, a leading IT public limited Company well known for their Training business. While with SQL, Bijit was temporarily deputed to the their wholly owned subsidiary SQL Star International Inc., US to run their operations in a transitory period. As a result, apart from running global finance operations for India , US and Singapore he has had exposure in running an overseas operation. At SQL, Bijit led their maiden IPO as the Compliance Officer and took the Company to a successful listing. Bijit's areas of specialisation have been in treasury operations, financial and corporate planning, budgets, MIS, systems and procedures. His last held position at SQL was as General Manager\Finance.

Bijit is a Commerce graduate of St Xavier's College, University of Kolkata and Final Gr of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
