iPublishCentral 3.3 Features Online EPUB Reader
New York - March XX, 2012 - Impelsys, a global leader in providing electronic content delivery solutions, today announced the release of iPublishCentral 3.3, a new version of its award-winning digital publishing software platform.
The highlight of the new release is a new online EPUB reader, which enables users to read eBooks online in EPUB format as well. With the addition of this reader, users can now read eBooks in PDF (fixed layout format) as well as in the re-flowable EPUB format. While the new online reader works best with Safari and Chrome, it is compatible with various browsers and devices as well.
"EPUB remains the most preferred format for reading on mobile devices - such as the iPad - because of its crisp interface and excellent portability across major e-reading devices and smart phones," said Anil Gopinath, executive vice president of global engineering for Impelsys. "With iPublishCentral 3.3, users can read their eBooks in an EPUB format online, which complements the existing capability of reading content in EPUB offline through dedicated apps for the iPad."
iPublishCentral is a comprehensive platform that allows any organization to publish, deliver, distribute and market their eBooks without making significant development investments on their own. Last year, the iPublishCentral platform was recognized as one of the Top 8 SaaS-based Apps in NASSCOM's 2011 Product Showcase.
Other enhancements built into the newly released version of iPublishCentral platform include:
Enhanced reading experience -
o The ViewInside reader has been revamped based on usability principles
o Readers will be able to download titles much faster than before, as content can now be downloaded from a Content Delivery Network (CDN)
o Users can synch notes made in titles in PDF format across the online and offline readersImproved discounting module - Publishers who sell directly to end customers now have more options to provide discounts:
Provide discounts only for specific titles
Provide cart level discounts when price of purchase or number of titles purchased exceeds a pre-defined limit Search related enhancements for Administrators - Administrators can now search a title based on ISBN when subscribing titles to an Institution. Additionally, administrators can now search for institutions based on contact email address, country, state/region, and zip code.
