The fag end of the final day saw mild nostalgia among the crowd, but the moments and memories of the three-day-long London Book Fair 2017 will last for some time now. The show ended on a positive note for most of the participants, with reports of book sales continuing to grow for the last two years despite the political uncertainty. One major point of conversation at the fair was the record-breaking advance, rumored to be around $65 million, that Barack and Michelle Obama received for a pair of books they will write.
Impelsys, like every year, was among the significant exhibitors as a provider of technology for the content and learning industry. The announcement of the new version of the flagship ebook platform, iPublishCentral Ebooks 8.0 (Now mon’k), was the talking point at Impelsys’ booth, along with success stories of its learning platform iPublishCentral Learn (Now mon’k), Adaptive Ebooks, and other products and services.
Visitors to Impelsys’ booth watched the product demos and had fruitful discussions with the team present at the booth. The list of visitors consisted of content publishers and learning providers looking for appropriate solutions for digital content development, courseware design, and learning delivery. The fair provided a platform to establish new relationships and fortify existing ones.
Sameer Shariff, Founder & CEO, Impelsys Inc., said, “London Book Fair is like homecoming to us, we exhibit here every year, and it becomes sentimental when we think of all those years and how we have grown from strength to strength – just like LBF – in the past decade. We have seen ups and downs, but the love for what we do – help spread knowledge through technology – keeps us going, and we have come far from where we started. Impelsys and iPublishCentral (Now mon’k) are now fully recognized names in the digital publishing and e-learning industry.”
Sameer Shariff and Stefan Kend (EVP Sales, Impelsys Inc.) spoke at the Tech Theatre on topics: Stepping Up the Content Game: Enriched, Interactive Content to Promote Enhanced Learning and Build and Manage Efficient Production Workflow to Get your Digital Products to Market Faster.
Lionel Leventhal, the creator of the fair, talks about the London Book Fair in this video, “The fair, which I started in 1971 with twenty other specialist publishers – originally called librarians – grew each year, now becoming a remarkable, marvelous international event. It’s brilliant, it’s expanded and developed, and has become something that is totally beyond our original conception. I am humbled by the contribution the fair has made, and continues to make to the book trade, and it will grow from strength to strength.”
Impelsys thanks all the visitors to our booth and our partners who could not make it to the event. As a global contributor of technology to the content and learning industry, we strive to provide the best products and services that could help the industry in multiple ways. We thank the organizers and everyone associated with the show. We are currently exhibiting at the Learning Solutions Conference & Expo in Orlando, FL, from 22nd to 24th March. Our next probable stop is at the STM Annual Conference in Washington, DC, between April 25 and April 26.
For next year, the London Book Fair dates will go back to usual, 10-12 April 2018. Hope to see all of you there again.
