The Frankfurt Book Fair 2016 which will take place from 19th to 23rd October will bring together visitors from around the globe including trade partners, exhibitors, first-time visitors, and media. One of the highlights of the Fair is the Guest of Honor, which this year is Flanders & the Netherlands. Their slogan is “Dit is wat we delen” (“This is what we share”), and they will present not just non-fiction, novels, and poetry, but also new forms that have emerged from the creative industry, book arts and other artistic fields.

Talking about new forms that will definitely include a range of offerings from the exciting world of digital publishing. When we think about digital publishing, the sky is truly the limit. Think eBooks, enhanced eBook and more. Or think of an academic or engineering book with embedded video that brings a topic to life, or a kid’s book where a favorite character’s voice can be heard.

And this is only the tip of the digital publishing iceberg. Digital publishing is already the next frontier and will bring in revenues from those who can understand the creative use of text, images, video, social content, and so much more.

Apart from the trade experts, you may even bump into an author or film producer as well. Incidentally, the well-known American magazine that went digital, Newsweek, will be at the Fair for the first time. There will be some interesting tours that you can take, so sign up quickly. Use the Book Fair app as well. Sign up for Fair’s newsletter.
